Making Therapy Accessible: How Insurance & Fees Work
At Dandelion Therapy Group, we find that sometimes, insurance is more confusing than it needs to be. We don’t want that to be a barrier to our clients getting care, so we’ve demystified the process.
How Does Insurance Work with Therapy Services?
Using insurance for therapy is a lot like using it at your primary doctor's office, but there are a few specific things we look at together. When you use your health insurance for therapy, your provider covers a portion (or sometimes all) of the cost of your sessions, depending on your specific plan.
What Will My Sessions Cost?
Because insurance plans vary wildly, we can never legally promise an exact dollar amount before verifying your specific plan. However, we have great news: health insurance makes therapy incredibly accessible.
Zero-Copay Plans: Depending on your provider and plan, some of our clients enjoy a $0 copay, meaning insurance covers 100% of their care.
Standard Copays: Many clients have a small, predictable copay (often between $15 and $30) per session.
Deductibles: If you have a high-deductible plan, you may pay our contracted insurance rate until your deductible is met. After that, your insurance will cover either the majority or the entire cost of the services provided.
The 3 Simple Steps to Get Started
We take the burden off your shoulders. Here are the three simple steps to get you set up for services without the stress:
Reach out and share your info: When you contact us to book an appointment, simply provide your insurance details.
Get your clear breakdown: We provide a clear and easy to understand breakdown of your costs so there are no surprises down the road.
Attend your session: If everything looks good, you're ready to comfortably step into your first session and focus entirely on your well-being.
Insurance & Employee Assistance Programs We Accept
We partner with a wide array of major insurance networks and employee assistance programs to keep your care accessible. Some of the networks we work with include the list below. If you aren't on this list, reach out anyway—we can easily check your benefits, explore out-of-network options, or look into PPO and private pay coverage.
We also accept plans administered through: Allegiance, Assurant, Boon Chapman, Consociate Group, Golden Rule, Healthscope, Johns Hopkins Healthcare, Magna Care, Sana Benefits, The Loomis Company, and various local EAPs.
Cost for services
For most of our therapists, the costs for private pay services are:
$150-175 for client’s first intake session.
$125-150 for subsequent sessions.
$40 for drug screening.
*A sliding fee scale is available on a limited basis with clinicians seeking full licensure. **Insurance is not accepted for court-ordered mental health evaluations or services.***Medicaid is not accepted at this time. How Private pay can improve your results
You get privacy from third parties, including your employer and insurance companies.
You have more control over your treatment options. Insurance companies can’t decide how many sessions you can have, what kind of treatment is accepted, or how long you can be in therapy for.
You don’t need to receive a diagnosis. Insurance companies require a diagnosis for coverage, which becomes part of your health record and may impact your future insurance rates.
If any of these benefits are of interest to you, ask us about Out-of-Network options.

Yes, absolutely. If we aren't currently in-network with your specific provider, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits. We can provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many of our clients use this option.
-
That is completely okay. We offer transparent private-pay rates for clients who prefer not to use insurance, value maximum privacy, or have out-of-network plans. We also provide Super Bills.
